  4. “ Wildlife-rich rivers, waterways and wetlands will be at the heart of a revitalised, resilient and beautiful landscape that is connected and accessible for local communities and visitors to enjoy and explore as well as providing many opportunities to inspire and re-connect people to the river valley by revealing its cultural, industrial and natural heritage.”

  5. So what are we going to do? Our projects will be delivered under three themes: Connecting Communities through Action Volunteering, learning, discovering, participating River Valley Connections Sustainable access to the countryside Transforming the Landscape Protecting and preserving our natural and cultural heritage

Connecting Communities Through Action • Community Engagement – grants, support for community groups, volunteering • Wildchild – connecting children and families to nature • Big Washlands Watch – citizen science focussed on biological monitoring and recording • Tales of the Riverbank – youth oral history project • Transforming Lives – increasing practical skills in young adults • Connecting to Nature – adults spending time in nature to improve mental health

Connecting Communities through Action How can you get involved? • Participate in our events and activities (Wildfamilies @ Washlands, Wildlings @ Beans Covert, Muddy Wildchild @ Muddy Boots Gardening Project) • Volunteer your time (Wildchild Resources volunteer, Community Grants Panel member) • Apply for a Community Grant of up to £2000 for a project which fits with TTTV aims and objectives • Join our mailing list.

River Valley Connections Trent Valley Way – long distance footpath Canal Access – improvement of canal paths Canoe Discovery – improving canoe access to rivers Gateway to the Trent Valley Cycle Way – creating a long distance cycle route Waymarking Trent Valley cycle routes – marking family friendly cycle routes throughout the area

  9. River Valley Connections How can you get involved? • Cycling events across the valley – watch this space! • Volunteer your time (survey new routes or help install infrastructure)

Transforming the Landscape Living floodplains – improving the biodiversity of the Trent Valley floodplain Rolleston Brook Hollows – desilting Brook Hollows and encouraging community activity Transforming the Trent Valley’s Heritage – saving the lessons of the past, for the future Stop! The Military Heritage of the Trent Valley - protecting, preserving and recording a century of war
