Importantly the biggest challenges faced now and in the future are maximising trader’s compliance whilst facilitating legitimate trade.
Continues improvements on areas of immediate commitments pertaining to Category A pending the Agreement to be in force, thus PNG ratifying to the Agreement. PNGCS will work on the more targeted and risk based assessment to which has already commenced with the development of a Compliance Assurance Strategy. PNG Customs is currently working on having a trusted trader’s program me policy which will hopefully be rolled out in the near future which would help assist Customs interventions.
