  1. Topical workshop on Radiation biology Topical workshop on Radiation biology September 2010 (B.2.3. Training) Medical Radiation Physics Department of Oncology-Pathology f O Karolinska Institutet Stockholm, Sweden ,

  2. Visiting scientists Visiting scientists Prof. Adrian Begg from Division of Experimental Therapy, Netherlands Cancer Institute, The Netherlands . Adrian Begg (SVS) carried out his PhD research at the University of London, firstly within Hammersmith Hospital and subsequently at the Cancer Research Campaign Gray Laboratory. He studied the cell kinetics of murine tumors in relation to their radiation response under the supervision of Jack Fowler. He then held a 3-year di ti d th i i f J k F l H th h ld 3 post-doctoral position at the University of California Medical Center, San Francisco, studying the interaction of cytotoxic drugs and radiation. He became head of the Experimental Therapy division in 1990, and Professor of Molecular Radiobiology attached to Nijmegen University in 2002. attached to Nijmegen University in 2002. Prof. Karin Haustermans from Universitair Ziekenhuis Leuven, Belgium. Karin Haustermans (SVS) obtained an M.D. degree at the Catholic University of Karin Haustermans (SVS) obtained an M D degree at the Catholic University of Leuven (KUL) (1987) and specialised in Radiation Oncology (1993). She obtained a Ph.D. in biomedical sciences with a thesis on cell kinetics in human oesophageal cancer (1995). Nowadays she is clinical head in digestive and urological oncology. She has obtained several research grants from the Fund for Scientific Research g (Belgium), the Dutch Cancer Society (the Netherlands) and an R21 from NCI (U.S.A). 2
