HISTORY • In 2001, seven Member States of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) agreed to form*, under the aegis of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), an Association of Civil Aviation Authorities of the Caribbean (ACAAC) with the interim Regional Aviation Safety Oversight System (RASOS) as its operating arm based in Jamaica; 23 Forum on Regional Safety Oversight Organisations (RSOOs) For Global Aviation Safety 22 – 24 March 2017, Ezulwini, Swaziland

  24. TRANSITIONING FROM RASOS to CASSOS In order to broaden the scope of its activities: • The Agreement establishing the Caribbean Aviation Safety and Security Oversight System (CASSOS) entered into force on 3rd of July 2008. • *CASSOS was formally launched in February 2009 at the Headquarters of the CARICOM Secretariat in Guyana. 24 Forum on Regional Safety Oversight Organisations (RSOOs) For Global Aviation Safety 22 – 24 March 2017, Ezulwini, Swaziland
