January 2, 1920: Political Extremist The Palmer Raids start which causes a period of intense government persecution of radical political dissidents.
August 18, 1920: Women in the 1920s The 19th amendment was made which gave women the right to vote.
October 1921: New Entertainment The Baseball World Series game was broadcasted on the the radio for the first time, the New York Giants beat the New York Yankees
1922: Harlem Renaissance Claude McKay wrote a large body of work called Harlem Shadows and he protested against the suffering of African Americans in white society.
1922: New Technology There were more than 500 radio stations on air and more American began buying radios so they could listen to them.
1923: Jazz Age Ellington and several other musicians moved to New York to start a band.
1924: Prohibition There was a report that showed Kansas was obey the law of prohibition at a rate of 95 percent and New york was only at a rate of 5 percent.
April 1925: Arts and Literature F. Scott Fitzgerald publishes the Great Gatsby
October 1929: Signs of Trouble The American stock market crashed leading to the cause of The Great Depression.
November 6, 1928: 1920s Politics Herbert Hoover is elected president.
December 14, 1929: Organized Crime In the “Saint Valentine's Day Massacre” was the bloodiest incident with rival Chicago mobsters, they were fighting to control lucrative bootlegging trade.
1929: Age of Excess John J. Raskob wrote an article called “Everybody Ought to be Rich”. He said that if everyone saves $15 a week over 20 years they could bring $400 a month income from investments.
