NJDOE Guidelines ▪ Each district must develop, in collaboration with community stakeholders, a plan to reopen schools in the fall that best fits the district's local needs. Each district must include an in-school component . ▪ Each district must adopt a policy for screening students and employees for symptoms of COVID-19. Each district must have a clearly defined sanitation protocol. ▪ Although, some level of in-person instruction is required, the state is encouraging districts to establish a hybrid approach that includes remote learning .

NJDOE Guidelines ▪ Local districts will be required to establish a plan to ensure students and staff are practicing social distancing . Desks/workstations must be six-feet apart from each other. If that is not possible, schools may use physical barriers such as plexiglass to separate students. ▪ School staff and visitors are required to wear face coverings , unless doing so would inhibit the individual’s health, or the individual is under two. Meanwhile, students are encouraged to wear masks when social distancing isn’t possible.

NJDOE Guidelines ▪ Cohorting : Schools may wish to identify small groups of students and keep them together to ensure that student and staff groupings are as static as possible, thereby limiting exposure to large groups of students. This must include minimal use of shared objects/tools/equipment. ▪ Lunch : Districts are being encouraged to stagger mealtimes to limit the number of students in the cafeteria. Use Grab & Go as much as possible. No self serve or buffet lines. Eat meals outside or in classrooms. ▪ Recess/PE : State officials are asking they stagger recess to limit the number of students on the playground. PE/recess areas/equipment need to be inventoried.

GIS: Overview ▪ Sign up for scheduled laptop distribution prior to the start of school ▪ Students will be scheduled in a cohort for classes ▪ Socially distant classrooms (limited to 10-13 students per class) ▪ Grab & Go lunch with breakfast included for the next morning ▪ Hybrid Learning Model- Maroon Day/ Gold Day/ All Virtual Day Schedule: Mon=M(A), Tues=G(A), Wed= AVD , Thu= M(B), Fri= G(B)

GIS: Overview ▪ Wednesdays will be reserved for heavy cleaning between the cohort of students ▪ Students will be required to wear a mask for the duration of the school day and while riding the school bus to and from school. ▪ School staff and visitors are required to wear face coverings , unless doing so would inhibit the individual’s health, or the individual is under two. ▪ Early Dismissal Schedule 7:25am-11:46am daily

GIS: Overview ▪ NJSIAA has not provided plans for MS sports at this time ▪ Locker rooms will be closed ▪ Hall lockers will not be assigned ▪ Parents must decide between virtual learning or the hybrid learning model. If parents reverse their decision, there is no guarantee the request can be granted.
