What type of initiatives have the potential to democratise knowledge and access to cultural heritage? How can heritage authorities increase public participation in decision- making? Are there new methods available that could be used to strengthen the public engagement with cultural heritage? (for example, using digitisation, new technologies, crowd-sourcing and crowd-funding). Are there limits to the amount of public support that can be expected for heritage protection?
