Exam Structure 1. Lecture exam (25% in B.EP .204 / 33% in M.EP .02c — count 30 minutes) 2. Seminar exam (75% in B.EP .204 / 67% in M.EP .02c — count 90 minutes) (a) Commentary on a seen passage of Old English verse (30% of seminar exam) (b) Translation of an unseen passage of Old English prose (40% of seminar exam) (c) Discussion of a seen Middle English text (30% of seminar exam)
Lecture Exam Answer four out of sixteen questions. Frequent Mistakes ▶ Misunderstanding the question ▶ Solution: answer four questions you are sure you have understood ▶ Answering too few questions ▶ Solution: write a Post-It “4/16” ▶ Answering too many questions ▶ Solution: write a Post-It “4/16” ▶ Writing overlong answers ▶ Solution: leave out the detail until you are done with everything else Any one mistake significantly affects your overall score.
