The Development of ARKTOS Evacuation Craft For All Arctic Marine Conditions Starting in the early 1980’s the development of the ARKTOS Evacuation Craft that would be able to operate for 365 days a year in open water, mixed ice/water, on solid level ice as well as in ice rubble conditions for offshore Arctic conditions was initially funded by: • Watercraft UK • Canadian Department of Industry, Trade and Commerce (ITC) • Canada Oil and Gas Lands Administration (COGLA) • The North American oil companies listed on Page 2 13 monthly one or two day meetings with a delegate from each of the companies was held at the ARKTOS factory to perfect the requirements the Craft would have to meet as well as selecting final Craft components Page 1 of 8
