ENTER THE LAW 4 Romans 7:7 What shall we say then? Is the Law sin? May it never be! O the contrary, I would not have come to know sin except through the Law; Galatians 3:23-24 But before faith came, we were kept in custody unde the law, being shut up to the faith which was later to be revealed. Theref the Law has become our tutor to lead us to Christ, so that we may be just by faith. THE LAW PROVIDED A REDEMPTION MODEL; WE HAD NO ONE ELIGIBLE MAKE THE REDEMPTION. Why? The Redeemer had to be a blood relative (nearest who was able/willing) The Redeemer had to be willing (this was going to cost something) The Redeemer had to be able (a slave must redeem himself before he is a to redeem another slave)
DUTIES OF KINSMAN REDEEMER: GA’AL 5 Redeem his relative who was in slavery (we are in slavery to sin) Redeem the land his relative lost (we lost the earth) Serve as guiltless judicial executioner of his kinsman’s murderer ( John 8: "You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning…) Married the woman who had no heirs; produced heir for the original husb PEOPLE NEEDED REDEMPTION IN ALL FOUR AREAS BUT LACKED A RELA WHO WASN’T BORN OF THE SEED OF MAN, THUS BORN INTO SLAVERY Hebrews 2:14-15 Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood Himself likewise also partook of the same, that through death He might re powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and might f those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives. JESUS FULFILLS THE LAW 6 Matthew 5:17 “Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill.” Ephesians 1:9-10 He made known to us the mystery of His will, accord to His kind intention which He purposed in Him with a view to an administration suitable to the fullness of the times, that is, the summing u all things in Christ, things in the heavens and things on the earth. HOW DID JESUS DO THIS? AS THE KINSMAN REDEEMER. WHAT PRICE DID HE Exodus 12:21-23 "Go and take for yourselves lambs according to your families, and slay the Passover lamb. You shall take a bunch of hyssop an it in the blood which is in the basin, and apply some of the blood that is in basin to the lintel and the two doorposts; and none of you shall go outsid the door of his house until morning. For the LORD will pass through to sm the Egyptians; and when He sees the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, the LORD will pass over the door and will not allow the destroy to come in to your houses to smite you. ”
