  12. Building Section

  13. • We chose to make a single story house with no basement because the occupants wouldn‟t be able to use a basement and it would cost a lot more money than using slab Wall Section on grade construction. • We looked at many different foundation options but decided to use 10” CMU‟s because they‟re cost efficient, a natural material and are made only 3 miles from our building site. • We used 2x4 studs @ 24” OC for our walls because it uses less materials, it is cost efficient , and we chose NU- WOOL for the cavity because it has a high R- Value and makes a very dense wall. • We agreed on using thin brick veneer because it is cost efficient ,it is made only 7 miles from our building site, it is very durable, requires little to no maintenance and still has the same great look of brick but uses a lot less natural material. • We chose Hardie Board siding because it resists damage from insects, wind and hail, water resistant ,it can not catch fire, good in cold climate and humid climates, requires little maintenance and creates a dense wall. • We chose SIPs panels because we have a cathedral ceiling and wanted the massive beams to be shown and because the greatly decrease heating and cooling costs • We used 2” EPS below the slab because it is water resistance, and has a high compressive strength.

  15. Roof Design ATAS International, Inc 6612 Snowdrift Road Allentown Pa 18106 (610) 395-8445 SUSTAINBLE BUILDING PRODUCTS ATAS INTERNATIONAL, INC • ATAS – “Scan Roof” • Metal Roofing Panels • “Medium Bronze” • “ATAS” Metal Roofing Panels • Model: Scan Roof – SCP163 • Color: Medium Bronze • Cedar Shake Look • LEED Points – LESS NEED FOR REPLACEMENT – RECYCLED CONTENT – LOCAL MANUFACTURER – LESS WASTE – LESS SAVINGS ON HEATING AND COOLING COSTS
