Navy Demolition and HAZMAT Disposal Costs for Zuniga • FY17  24 boats washed ashore, 22 removed, one boat still partially submerged at Dog Beach Fence  Total demo cost to date: $215K  Total HAZMAT disposal cost: $56K • FY18  19 boats washed ashore, 12 removed (four by owner or waves carried out to sea), three boats await demo  Total demo cost to date: $176K  Total HAZMAT disposal cost: $16K • FY19  17 boats washed up as of 02 Feb; 9 removed; demolition in progress  Total cost to date: $186K 5

Sea Level Rise Adaptation • Focus: Mission Readiness • Local Partnerships and Recent Coordination  Navy Region Southwest MOA with Port of San Diego  Attend SANDAG SLR Working Group  Supported City of Coronado Grant for CALTRANS Vulnerability Study  NOAA and Scripps Oceanography have a contract to prepare coastal flooding analysis at Naval Amphibious Base Coronado. 6

Water Quality • NBC is subject to all federal, state and local regulations as well as DOD Instructions regarding environmental compliance  Over 50 samples/month to test waters for health and environment • Stormwater  Industrial and municipal systems • Industrial – best management practices • Municipal – house cleaning & awareness training  Eliminated Steam Condensate as point source discharge • Wastewater  11 permits; three treatment systems • Drinking Water  Four permitted water distributions systems 7

Coastal Campus Updates • SR-75 Traffic Light Schedule  26FEB -Traffic signal installation  05MAR -Traffic light will be energized  05MAR – 08MAR One day of highway striping and several days of CALTRANS testing (the traffic light will be in service the entire time).  08MAR – Light testing complete . • Security Lighting at ECP  Important for security functions - differentiating car colors at night, camera systems that read license plates, etc.  Essential for safety of sentries, motorists, bikers and pedestrians at night  Required by DOD criteria for entry control points  Addressed in Coastal Campus EIS 11
