IA DEPARTMENT CU CULTURE, , YOUTH, S , SPOR ORTS AND AND MEDIA SUBSIDY FOR AN INTERNATIONAL PUBLIC PRESENTATION (ORGANIZATION OR INDIVIDUAL) PURPOSE A “Subsidy for an international public presentation” offers the possibility of an actor in the art field to capitalize on an opportunity abroad. For this, a rapid procedure is provided. This subsidy is specifically aimed at initiatives including a public presentation. The presentation of Flemish artists at international art fairs and promotional galleries is also eligible for this subsidy. WHO CAN APPLY Both the artist involved in the presentation(s), organizations as a mediator or foreign organization may submit an application. If the applicant is an organization, it must have legal personality. If an artist or an organization established in the Dutch-speaking region or in the bilingual Brussels-Capital, submits the application, it must be involved in the art scene in the Flemish Community and be professionally active. If a foreign organization submits an application, they must program one or more Flemish artists or organizations. WHAT EXPENSES S / I INITIATIV IVES / / ACTIO IONS Q QUALIFY To be eligible for this subsidy, there must be a presentation moment. That is to say that there is an active participation in the form of a concert, show, exhibition, lecture and so on. The kind of expenses eligible in this type of grant is not limited to travel, accommodation, insurance and transport. Also material and other expenses may be eligible, as long as these costs are strictly limited to the presentation (eg. the rental of equipment or instruments). So the cost for the creation of a work that will be shown will not be taken into account. WHAT CO CONDITIONS S HAVE TO BE MET WITH The Arts department checks whether an admissible application meets following conditions: the activity for which you request a subsidy, must include a presentation as an applicant you must be involved in the art scene in the Flemish Community and also be professionally working in the arts sector The activity is not situated within the scope of the Flemish Literature Fund or the Flemish Audiovisual Fund or concern the design or execution of building projects If your organization receives an operating grant of more than 300,000 euro in the frame of the Arts Decree, it is no longer eligible for this subsidy. There are three criteria that will be checked: 1. the quality of the foreign presentation 2. The reasonableness of the budget 3. where applicable, the specification by the Flemish Government's criteria. (At this moment the minister has not formulated additional citeria.) AFTER YOUR APPLI LICATION ON Advising The Arts Department makes an advice based on your application file. Decision Based on the advice of the Arts Department the minister decides which applications are selected for a subsidy. This will happen at the latest two months after the submission date of the application. About the payment The maximum amount you can apply for or receive is 7000 euro. A “Subsidy for an international public presentation” with a gr ant amount higher than 3000 euro will be paid as follows: You will receive an advance of 90% after the signature of the minister’s decision the balance of 10% is paid after monitoring the use of the grant. (So after you have submitted your settlement file). Note: For foreign applicants, the advance is 70% and the balance 30%.

What you have to do if your are awarded this subsidy Subsidized artists and organizations have to use the logo of the Flemish Government (State of the Art) in all their communications. Settlement As a recipient of this subsidy , you need to make a settlement file in which you show that you’ve used the subsidy for the purpose for which it is given. If you are an artist (individual) requesting this subsidiy your settlement file has to explain how the subsidy has contributed to your professional artistic development. As an organization you prove your presentation has been carried out as described in the application. If your organization has legal personality, you have to prove that: your employees are payed correctly You have your accounting books in order. The reporting of the settlement file is done digitally through KIOSK. Supervision and inspection Our Arts Department inspects the settlement file and pays the balance or subsidy if all conditions are met.
