Request a Date ü Check the website for available recital dates music.cmich.edu --> Current Students --> Student Recitals ü Fill and sign the Student Recital Request Form return to Kristin Pagels ü Check requested dates with the following people before submitting 1) Your Professor 2) Your Collaborative Pianist
Your Recital Jury ALL STUDENTS , graduate and undergraduate, must pass a recital jury in order to hold a recital on campus. Your recital jury must take place at least 3 weeks prior to your recital In most cases, your jury committee is made up of 1) Your applied professor 2) At least 2 other professors ü Email Dan Koefoed to schedule time for your Recital Jury does not apply to voice students ü Make sure your professors are available for your jury time before scheduling
Upon Passing Your Recital Jury ü Turn in the signed Recital Jury Form to Kristin Pagels ü Turn in your program (as a word doc) to Kristin Pagels ü Email Dan Koefoed to schedule up to 2 hours of rehearsal time in Chamichian ü Turn in the Recital Recording Form to Mindy Zeneberg Payment is due at this time ** if needed** Email Scott Topazi & Dan Koefoed with technical needs for your recital ex: microphone, projector/screen, electronic music, etc.

Promoting your Student Recital Things to Do Things NOT to Do • Create a Facebook Event • Do not post flyers on walls or bathroom stalls in the Music Building. • Post on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, etc. • Email your friends, family, or professors with an invitation Tips • Create and print flyers for your recital Check out ‘Canva” to design social media • Post flyers in your apartment, dorm, posts and/or flyers for your recital! place of employment, public bulletin boards, in the SOM Student Lounges
The Week of Your Recital ü Get plenty of rest and drink plenty of water ! ü Make your post-recital reception plans (optional) ü Remind assisting musicians of rehearsal times A Day or Two Before... ü Check the office to see if your recital programs have arrived Recital Day ü Enter the hall 30 minutes prior to your recital start time ü Greet event staff when you arrive to the hall and communicate your set-up needs.
Afterwards ü Thank your assisting musicians, event staff, and professors for their support! ü Save any extra programs for your portfolio. If you ordered a CD, you will receive an email when it is ready to pick up. Please allow 2-3 weeks time.
