Overview • Cal Poly Pomona announced 5 strategic initiatives in summer 2017 • The Division of Student Affairs is in the process of developing our own initiatives that connect to the university plan. • Strategic Planning is an important process to establish a clear vision and direction, and criteria for evaluating resource allocation.

Timeline Fall 2017 – Student Affairs Committee convened Jan 2018 – All-Division meeting to gain input from Student Affairs staff Spring 2018 – Stakeholder Input (students, alumni, faculty/staff, parents, and community members) June 2018 – Draft plan will be submitted to Vice President of Student Affairs.

Why should you care? • Student input is critical to the plan. • The strategic plan will last for the next 5 years, and now is the time to provide input on the direction of the division. • This is an opportunity to think about your needs and the needs of students who will come after you.
