The Table of Partners works within a robust governance structure under the guidance of a Terms of Reference. Housing In 2015 46.1% of renters in • LHA 72 and 52.6% of renters in LHA 84 are spending more than 30% of their income on housing Combined population • growth for both regions is projected to increase by 11% over the next 25 years ‒ 75+ age bracket to increase 250% ‒ 20 ‐ 44 age bracket to increase by 20%
Address affordable housing across the region and across the housing continuum • Identify projected trends • Develop shared data measurements • Identify policy interventions • Develop multi ‐ sectoral partnerships and collaborative planning • Positioning communities to leverage external funding and support • Research evidence ‐ based best practice in comparable communities • Identify opportunities to increase the availability of appropriate, affordable • housing across the region
ACCESS TO AFFORDABLE, RELIABLE TRANSPORT
Access to affordable, reliable transport contributes to mental health, physical health and regional prosperity. It is linked to other priority areas such as: ‐ Access to healthy, affordable food ‐ Access to affordable, appropriate housing ‐ Ageing in place Transport ‐ Employment, income and education ‐ Social connectivity and mental wellbeing Transport: Improve access to affordable, reliable transport Transport was identified as a high priority at both Health Network forums Other Health Network initiatives: BC Transit inter ‐ community bus service between Port Hardy • and Port McNeil Dialogue to Action project and Transportation Study in Port • Alberni
