1. Progress at the Mine Mining 2 nd Quarter 2018 Waste BCM 233,000 BCM ROM Coal 32,000 tonnes (Includes Codam) CHPP product 117,000 tonnes (Includes Duralie) *Mining in BRN re-commenced during the quarter with the first coal produced in June 2018. *Construction in Avon North commenced in July 2018. *Wenham Cox Rd diversion construction has commenced. *Reclaim from the Codam continued. 26 July 2018 3 3
2. Environmental Reporting & Regulators Management Area Project Status • Stratford Annual Review 2017 • The 2017 SMC Annual Review has been finalised during March 2018 and is now Reporting available on the Stratford Coal website. DPE and DRG have confirmed acceptance of the Annual Review with minor changes. • Independent Environmental • 2017 Independent Environmental Audit report and recommendations is now Audit available on the Stratford website. An update will also be provided in the next Annual Review. • NPI & NGER Reporting • The 2018 NPI and NGER reporting preparation has commenced. • EPL 5161 Annual Return • EPL5161 AR has been prepared and is due for submission in August 2018 • EPL 11745 Annual Return • The EPL 11745 Annual Return was prepared following surrender of the licence. • Resource Regulator site • On 31 May 2018 the Resource Regulator undertook an unannounced site Regulator inspection. inspection as part of a state-wide compliance operation. The inspection focused on compliance with rehabilitation commitments in the approved Mining Operations Plan. Observations/recommendations: • Rehabilitation is progressing in accordance with the MOP commitments. • Further development of completion criteria to demonstrate the success of mature rehabilitation, particularly in agricultural areas. • Develop a strategy to assess the proposed rehabilitation methodology for the reject emplacement facility. • Environmental Management • SCPL are preparing revisions of the Environmental Management Plans to Plans & MOP incorporate the Stratford East Mining area. Lodgement is expected during August 2018. The MOP revision will be provided for consultation with the CCC. • Mining Lease Application • SCPL has lodged MLA 552 for the Stratford East area during December 2017. 26 July 2018 4 4

Typically low results during Annual Rolling Average - 12 Months to June 2018 winter and higher during spring/summer. 35 • High results at Ellis in Sep-17 due to burning off next 30 to HVAS monitor. Bushfire smoke contributed to high levels in late Sep-17. 25 PM 10 (ug/m 3 ) • High results across all monitors on 20-Mar-18 due to 20 hazy conditions across valley following a southerly 15 change and prolonged dry weather. • 10 Flat trend over previous 12 months. • HVAS results provide more reliable data compared to 5 dust deposition results and should be referred to when 0 interpreting dust emissions. 3b. Blast Management Management Area Project Status • Blast Monitoring • Blasting is scheduled to recommence at Stratford in August 2018. Blasting • The blast monitors are currently being upgraded and calibrated in preparation for installation. • Blasting Preparations • A Road Closure management plan has been prepared for closures during blasting along Wenham Cox Rd. Consultation with MCC is ongoing. • An updated blast notifications register is currently being prepared. • The blast hotline has been re-established. • Baseline condition • Notification of residents within 2kms of blasting was undertaken in April 2018. Building Inspections inspections Building inspections of residences which requested inspections have been undertaken during July 2018. 26 July 2018 7 7
3c. Noise Management Management Area Project Status • Monthly Noise Survey • Monthly attended noise monitoring commenced in July 2018. Monitoring • No non-compliant results were recorded during the survey. However, exceedances of the noise criteria were recorded at times when weather conditions were present which exclude some results. Mitigation measures are required to be implemented at times when noise enhancing weather conditions are recorded. Reports will be made available on the Stratford Coal website. The next monitoring is scheduled in August 2018. • Real-Time Noise System • A second real-time noise monitor has been installed near the Stratford village. Real-Time Noise • The integrated real-time noise management system is currently being configured. The system analyses monitoring data from the noise units, the weather station and the inversion towers and records times when either the noise criteria is likely to be exceeded or when noise enhancing weather conditions are present. The system will then provide alarms to staff to implement additional noise mitigation measures where required. 26 July 2018 8 8
3d. Water Management Management Area Project Status • Annual water balance • The annual water balance review for 2017 has been completed an is included in the Site Water Management review. SMC Annual Review 2017. • Routine monitoring • Sporadic and low rainfall conditions through Summer 2017/18 followed by a single Surface Water Monitoring large rain event in March 2018. • Routine water sampling continued. All results consistent with the SCM Environmental Assessment predictions. • Aquatic Ecology - • Scheduled in September 2018 Macroinvertebrates • Routine monitoring • Routine groundwater sampling continued. All results consistent with the SCM Groundwater Monitoring Environmental Assessment predictions. 26 July 2018 9 9

3e. Rehabilitation Management Management Area Project Status • BRN cutback visual bund • Construction and rehabilitation of the BRN Cutback visual bund along Wenham Rehabilitated Waste Emplacements Cox Road has been finalised. The visual bund was seeded in June 2018. • Vegetation Monitoring - • Rehabilitation monitoring incorporating landscape function analysis and Monitoring Ecosystem Function Analysis vegetation dynamics was undertaken in May 2018. The report is currently being finalised and a summary will be included in the Annual Review. • Fauna Monitoring • Fauna monitoring in the rehabilitation areas was undertaken during January 2018. The results found – “A total of 104 species of vertebrate were recorded, comprising 8 frogs, 10 reptiles, 56 birds and 30 mammals, most of which were native.
