“Stillwater Presentation Techniques” with Denny Rickards Denny Rickards, IMO, could be called the Guru of Western United States trophy-trout still water fly fishing. Numerous excellent still water fly fishers I know say they are “Disciples of Denny”! With good reason: Denny Rickards’ simple approaches to presentation & fly selection, gleaned from 1000’s of hours of fly fishing research---catch trout---often, BIG trout! Denny Rickards has written four books: “Fly Fishing Stillwaters for Trophy Trout”, “Fly Fishing the West’s Best Trophy Lakes”, “Tying Stillwater Patterns for Trophy Trout” and “Stillwater Presentations”. I have approximately 450 titles in my fly fishing library. If I had to winnow the group to 25, the well-used copy of, “Fly Fishing Stillwaters for
Trophy Trout” would make the cut! Chapter 10, “PRESENTATION, The Most Critical Skill Of Them All” is easily worth the price of the book! Denny Rickards will be tying several of his favorite stillwater fly patterns. Denny will also have book copies for sale and autographing. I have invited Denny to dinner prior to the CFF meeting. Newman’s Grotto, 485 Coburg Road, 5pm. Come on over! Postscript: Denny Rickards could rest on his laurels---he doesn’t. Denny & I see each other each February at the annual Fly Fishing Show in Lynnwood, WA. Each of the last several years Denny is excited to tell me he is continuing to make revolutionary discoveries! The “Master of Stillwater” speaks! Come on down! Find Denny on the web at www.flyfishingstillwaters.com.
