Processing with 3.5.8.patch3 ● Full reprocessing available https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/CMS/ReproRequest358patch3 2010 and 2009 data ● Running on Tier0 Using the scaler beam-spot (scaler ~ BeamSpot::type()=LHC) Pixel vertex not using the beam-spot constraint (inconsistent ?) Conservative tracking seeding regions (~40 cm in z) Loose PV reconstruction cuts (1 cm z-separation) Loose photon reconstruction (5 GeV instead of 10 GeV, ...) ➢ Still need completion of validation for high level reconstruction ➢ The two datasets are not as consistent as we would like them to be due to the beam-spot, but the effect is minor. 7/05/09 PVT Meeting Vlimant 5

Feature list for 3.6 (2) https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/CMS/RecoTagSetDigest36X#Executive_Summary ● Added product for bTagging ● Tuning of the HF PMT cleaning ● Updated software to use scaler beam-spot 3.6.1 * ● Protect all tracking seeding step to 10K seeds ● Pixel error unpacking ● Possible next things for 3.6 cycle ➔ Bug-fixes ... ➔ Particle flow back port ➔ Pre-shower back port ➔ Tracking seeding adaptive thresholds ➔ Tracker cluster adaptive thresholds ➔ Use channel status in Ecal unpacking ➔ Updated track-jet algo ➔ ... (*) not including the many big-fixes in the listing 7/05/09 PVT Meeting Vlimant 7
Reprocessing with 3.6 (1) ● April 24 : https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/CMS/ReproRequest360 ➢ Configuration include Adapted PV loose configuration ✗ Did not succeed: 20% failures. ➢ Memory issues with tracking due to an evolution of the third step ● April 28 : https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/CMS/ReproRequest360Bis ➢ Configuration include tighter photon reconstruction electron reconstruction out-of-the-box Tuning of HF PMT cleaning ✔ Samples exist : 5% failures. ➢ Still memory issue with tracking 7/05/09 PVT Meeting Vlimant 8
Reprocessing with 3.6 (2) ● May 5 : https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/CMS/ReproRequest360patch2 ➢ Include Back-plane correction for strip local reconstruction Update SiStrip Lorentz-Angle conditions Updated strip gain conditions (not actually used) ✔ Sample exist ➢ Validated for tracking and Hcal ➢ Known issues with Ecal cleaning 7/05/09 PVT Meeting Vlimant 9
Reprocessing with 3.6 ● Next pre- reprocessing : 3.6.1 ➢ Include ✔ All addition to 3.6.1(see previous slides) ✔ Validated with previous pre-reprocessing Back-plane correction for strip local reconstruction Update SiStrip Lorentz-Angle conditions ✔ Pre-validated Updated strip gain calibration Updated tracker alignment Updated Ecal calibration ✗ To be pre-validated Updated muon alignment (alignment and APE) ➔ Not enough stat ➔ Would the reprocessing of the muon skim be useful ? ➔ Next valSkim (358patch3) will be enriched in muon Increase threshold on strip cluster ➔ Not easy to check for memory related crash 7/05/09 PVT Meeting Vlimant 10
Next Reprocessings ● Plan A: pre-reprocessing with 3.6.1 and new conditions towards production next week (see previous slide) ➢ Takes ~2 days ✔ Pros: validated by Monday, switching to production next week ✔ Cons: beam-spot payload next week to be validated ● Plan B : full reprocessing with 3.6.1 and no new conditions with respect to 3.6.0.patch2 reprocessing (?) ➢ Takes ~5 days for 99% of data ➢ Takes a bit more for skims to be made ✔ Pros: get a full dataset with 3.6.1 ✔ Cons: beam-spot payload and conditions to be integrated 7/05/09 PVT Meeting Vlimant 11
Summary ● 3.5.8.patch3 in production and good datasets available ● 3.6.1 in shape for reprocessing and production 7/05/09 PVT Meeting Vlimant 12
