  2. What is the SILCC programme? The SILCC programme allows hospital pharmacists (SILCC fellows), who are our target audience, to visit hospitals (SILCC hosts) from other EAHP member countries to learn about pharmacy procedures linked to the 44 European Statements of Hospital Pharmacy. The SILCC host is free to decide the type of training that will be provided and the conditions under which this training is offered to the SILCC fellow. EAHP has developed a reward system for the SILCC hosts and grants limited financial aid to SILCC fellows. A process has been put in place to assure the quality of the trainings offered by SILCC hosts The European Statements of hospital pharmacy represent what every European healthcare system should aim in the delivery of hospital pharmacy services SILCC 2

  3. Why did EAHP decide to develop this programme? The rationale to put forward this training programme has been: • the opportunity of sharing best practices and procedures complying with the European Statements of Hospital Pharmacy across EAHP member countries; • providing SILCC fellows with the tools to introduce practices that they have learned about in their training in their own hospital pharmacy after the completion of the SLICC programme; • Providing SICC Hosts with an opportunity also to learn from the fellows and to get inspired about what other countries are doing; • increase the literature and evidence around Statement implementation. SILCC fellows will have to draft a case-study after the programme summarizing what they have learned during the training and how they can implement some of that knowledge into their pharmacies; • SILCC fellows are also encouraged to disseminate their knowledge by means of presentations at national events or congresses to a wider audience. ….so in the end, the programme aims to help our member countries halthcare systems to get better outcomes from the patients ! 4. How does it work? The programme was launched during the 23 rd EAHP Congress in Gothenburg (March 2018) and was designed with the help of the EAHP Board and our 35 national associations. SILCC Hosts can apply to the programme through our website. Each hospital needs to be approved by the EAHP implementation team, the EAHP Board of Directors and the Board of the national association of the country from which the hospital is applying SILCC Fellows can apply through our website and then EAHP work as “bridge” between the applicant and the hospitals, liaising between them and providing support when needed. All requirements to integrate the SILCC programme are included on the website. 4

  5. Where are we now? • 7 hospitals that have already been approved as SILCC Hosts (we are still receiving applications) covering training for a total of 15 European Statements. • Our goal is to have all the 44 European Statements covered by the SILCC programme • The first SILCC Fellows will join the programme by the end of the year 5
