EXECUTIVE • City Seal redesigned and adopted by City Ordinance • All City employees participated in Customer Service Training • Sponsored public fireworks display for 4 th of July Holiday • Hosted first Board Members’ Appreciation Dinner for members of volunteer City Boards • Sponsored GeorgiaForward Young Game Changers cohort • Hosted swearing-in ceremony for Mayor and Alderman

FINANCE • For the 31th straight year, received the Government Finance Officers Association Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting (CAFR) • Procurement Coordinator received service award for the position of Secretary of GPAG (Governmental Procurement Association of Georgia) • Accounting manager completed the 2017 Advanced Government Finance Institute • City’s Pension Fund surpasses state- funding average • FY2017 Annual Budget completed with no budgetary amendments

  5. HUMAN RESOURCES • Received Georgia Municipal Association Wellness Grant to encourage a healthier lifestyle for employees in the amount of $8,000. Programs provided included: • Doc Talk and Psychologist Online • Workplace Stress Scale Quiz and Ways to Manage Stress • 24/7 NurseLine and Audio Health Library • Keep Mosquitoes Away • Up-to-date staff training • Planned, coordinated, and managed Annual City of Milledgeville Employee Appreciation Luncheon for over 200 employees • New Employee Newsletter

MAIN STREET/DDA • Director served as GDA Vice President • Two BOOST Grants totaling $2000.00 were awarded to downtown businesses. • Hosted 5 monthly Second Saturday Sales averaging 7 vendors and 150-200 visitors to downtown • Coordinated Treats 4 Halloween • Planned and hosted the Annual Polar Express Holiday Trolley Ride

  7. MAIN STREET/DDA • 2017 Deep Roots Festival brought approximately 17,000 visitors to our community. • Hosted 9 First Friday events and partnered with more than 20 community groups and organizations. • Hosted two Hometown Celebration in 2017 to foster community pride and a sense of place.

PLANNING & ZONING CODE ENFORCEMENT • Continued infrastructure improvements in Riverview area funded by receipt of $678,277 CDGB Grant. • Issued 525 Building Permits – Most requiring inspections • Held 14 Planning & Zoning Board Public Hearings • Issued 25 Certificates of Appropriateness • Held 5 Zoning Appeal Public Hearings • Appointed 1 new Planning & Zoning Board members

  9. PUBLIC SAFETY - POLICE • MPD awarded 5 th Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police certification • Carry and Conceal course sees growth • Officers receive MADD DUI awards • MPD awarded Statewide Agency of the Year for MADD Golden Shield

  10. PUBLIC SAFETY - POLICE • MPD’s Public Information Officer awarded the local Jefferson Award • Officer Eugene McKinney and Detective Scott Goodwin receive designation as VALOR in Blue instructors • MPD Officer Michael Thompson named Officer of the Year

PUBLIC SAFETY - FIRE • Responded to 1613 calls • Participated in the Muscular Dystrophy Association Boot Drive • Set up Fire Safety House and Assisted with various Community Service Projects • Installed Christmas decorations on City Hall • Trained in Search & Rescue, Ladders, Boats & River Rescue and Live Fire • Installed Smoke Detectors at various locations around city. • Hired 3 new firefighters and purchased new equipment and furniture for each station

PUBLIC WORKS & ENGINEERING • 575 Work Orders active or completed totaling 50,300 direct man-hours • Collected 1,129 tons of curbside yard debris • Hurricane Irma storm damage recovery • Storm damage improvements • New fuel maintenance system • Public Works Superintendent, Will Brown, named Chairman of Georgia Membership for APWA • LMIG Projects

  14. WATER AND SEWER DEPARTMENT • Received the Gold Award from Georgia Association of Water Professionals • Received a grant from the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program of FEMA • Employee Certifications • GEFA Loan • Architecture and engineering for new water treatment plant commenced

  15. WATER AND SEWER DEPARTMENT • Enhanced Milledgeville FOG Program • Continued Milledgeville CMOM Program • Upgraded and/or maintained employee certifications • Successfully completed EPD inspections • Continued Industrial Pretreatment Program • MWPCP Highlights

ALLIED ARTS • Over 1075 audience members for Allen’s Market concerts • 8 exhibits visited by 990 individuals • Over 800 K-12 students educated • Co-Sponsored JazzFest with Georgia College and Milledgeville Main Street • Sponsored and provided summer camps to over 160 students. • Hosted book signings with local authors

  17. TWIN LAKES LIBRARY SYSTEM • Received $250,000 grant for building renovations • Award $50,000 grant for creation of a business incubator • Awarded $13,400 grant for civic engagement • Received $15,000 grant for rural broadband innovation • 120,000 visitors/140,000 books/1200 readers

  18. CENTRAL STATE HOSPITAL LOCAL REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY • Continued growth for Bostick Center • Youth Challenge Academy graduates 3 rd class • State of Georgia commitment • Georgia International Food Center • Home to 10 small companies and/or not-for- profit entities
