Purpose of Ohio’s Local Report Cards ● Report on the progress of districts and schools in raising achievement and preparing students for the future ● Provide one measure of district and school progress; an important source of data for districts to use in conjunction with other data ● Report on the results on state tests given to students in grades 3-8 and in select high school courses annually in the spring ● Provide a snapshot of student, school and district performance at one point in time 3

Cautions for Ohio’s Local Report Cards ● Although significant legislation surrounds the requirements for achievement testing, it remains only one source of data that is used by our staff in identifying and analyzing the strengths and areas for improvement for each and every student. ● Benchmarks to measure student performance levels have and will continue to change annually ● 2016-17 report card measures not finalized yet by ODE - COMING IN SEPTEMBER! 4

  13. Gap Closing District Results The Gap Closing component shows how well we are meeting the performance expectations for our most vulnerable populations of students in English language arts, math and graduation. 13
