Background • Preliminary discussions with HMPPS 2017, delivery commenced early 2018 • Initial focus on HMP Swansea, recently extended to Prescoed, Parc, Cardiff & Eastwood Park for offenders resettling to Swansea area • Delivery model tailored to each prison but same overall approach and emphasis
Our approach • Support pre and post-release • Flexible and individualised - emphasis on one-to- one coaching, mentoring and job-matching • Focus on through-the-gate entry into employment • Continuum of into/in work support • Employer engagement and recruitment support – partnership with NFN
What does delivery look like? • Dedicated Career Coach • Immediate job-matching and advice on longer-term progression pathways • Support with job applications, CVs, interview skills • Employer brokerage and advice on handling disclosure • Barrier fund e.g. equipment, clothing, transport • Job-specific training & certification • Co-ordinating wraparound support
