Bonn, Germany Bonn is the birthplace of Ludwig von Beethoven. He is celebrated throughout the city. This picture is from the 275+ year old Alter Zoll biergarten adjacent to our host institution. We will eat lunch and spend several evenings under this gigantic tree enjoying the scenery and recapping our day’s activities and adventures.

“Romantic” Rhine River Villages Historical Germany Notice the tower at the end of the street; it’s part of the old wall protecting the city. We brag about 100 year old buildings. This is the “ Neutor ” (new tower) finished in 1329 .
“Romantic” Rhine River Villages We will visit 2,000+ year-old Bacharach, and spend a night in a 12 th century castle overlooking the Rhine. Bacharach has numerous half- timbered houses, including the “Altes Haus” (oldest house) located on the right of the picture. It was built in 1368.

Berchtesgaden and the Bavarian Alps We took an electric boat ride on Lake Königssee in Berchtesgaden to visit St. Bartholomä pilgrimage church. The students took advantage of the opportunity to don their swimsuits and take a quick swim in the Lake. The water was clear, cold, and refreshing.
