• Registration of essential medicines with DRA..About 104 out of 367 ED not registered as of 2014-15 • No quotes for low volume • No real time drug management information system • Inadequate storage space in hospitals • Quality testing of medicines • Insufficient transportation modes
• Fast Tracking of registration. (72 drugs registered in 2015-16) • The non-quoted items are being procured directly from Kolkata, New Delhi and manufacturers. • The web-based LMIS will be tendered out in the month of April 2016. • Hospitals plan the additional space requirement and incorporated in all new constructions. • Strengthen DTL through Public Health Laboratory • Increased the fleet of trucks and exploring new modes for distribution of medicines to health facilities
• Functional from year 2000 • Currently approximately USD 20 million against the fund target of USD 30 million by 2018 • Source of BHTF: 1) Health Contribution from all salaried employees of private sector, civil service, and corporations(approx. 45,000) 2) Return on investments 3) Voluntary contributions
Commitment to Govt. to ensure availability of atleast 95% of essential medicines in all health facilities at all times. RESULT : Availability of 98% essential medicines in all health facilities in the country (September 2015) as against 96% in PY.
