  3. 5/31/2018 WHY NOT BOTH WORKING GROUP 1 VVA will remain the same, congressionally chartered organization it has been and will develop a strategic plan to “Transition” at a time certain in the future, that time to be determined by the working group with input from and the approval of the general membership represented by the delegates at a National Convention WORKING GROUP 2 VVA will determine the feasibility of forming, chartering, funding or empowering of a new veterans organization to perpetuate our legacy and assure the tomorrow of all veterans. This task will be accomplished by this Working Group with input from and the approval of the general membership represented by the delegates at a National Convention A SUCCESSFUL PLAN MUST BE • LEADERSHIP INITIATED • SHARED AND SUPPORTED • BROAD AND COMPREHENSIVE • POSITIVE AND INSPIRING Our Strategic Plan is a word picture of the future 3

  4. 5/31/2018 Our Strategic Plan Uses The Process/Content Model PROCESS (LEADERSHIP) How will we do it Who will guide the plan CONTENT (MEMBERSHIP) What will be done Who will do it When will it be done How & when will we stop THE PROCESS Leadership Will Lead The Way National A Standard System Will Be Used The Plan Is The Process An Implementation System *2 Working Groups, 9 members each + 2 alternates and an AVVA representative will identify and own the content. The Board of Directors and State Council Presidents have recruited working group members for each track of the plan. Education & Training Working groups have received training on how to be successful. 4

  5. 5/31/2018 The Plan addresses three areas of focus • OUTCOME: Where will we be in the future? • METHOD: What must we do to get there? • RESOURCES : What price must we pay? Our strategic plan is a word picture of the future WORKING GROUP MARCHING ORDERS (THE O M R MODEL) OUTCOME: Defined in detail by the plan (what must be done) Each of the 2 tracks is an outcome Method: Defined by the working group (how shall we do this) Resources: What will we need and use The ready, aim, fire of successful planning 5
