  4. School Exchange Partnerships What are they? Such projects are a specific format of Erasmus+ Key Action 2 Strategic partnerships. The main goal of School Exchange Partnerships is to strengthen the European dimension in the participating schools, to build up their capacity for cross-border cooperation and their ability to cope with new challenges. By organising mobility activities for pupils, these partnerships will also promote the common values of freedom, inclusion, tolerance and non-discrimination as underlined in the Paris Declaration of March 2015. Applicants are encouraged to use eTwinning before, during and after their project. eTwinning promotes school collaboration in Europe through the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) by providing support, tools and services for schools. eTwinning also offers opportunities for free and continuing online Professional Development for educators.

Schools based in Programme Countries (EU Member States and FYR Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Turkey and Serbia) Project Partnership Minimum of two schools from two different Programme Countries, maximum of six schools Venue of activities Countries participating in the project. If justified activities can also take place at the seat of an institution of the EU. Project duration Between 12 and 36 months When to apply? March 21, 2019

School Exchange Partnerships Success Stories Project Title Hand to hand – Together in Europe Start and end dates 01-09-2018 - 31-08-2020 Summary The project brings together schools from Romania, Italy, Latvia, Turkey and Portugal. The work plan is based on promoting and developing students’ acquisition of skills and competences, enhancing social inclusion and cultural diversity. Most of the project’s activities will be concentrated within 5 clubs, each of them developing a certain aspect of a country’s natural heritage: "The magical world of fairy tales", "It's us" -songs and dances, "The whisper of the past builds up future", "Nature wonders"," Art heritage". EU Grant € 146,880

The objectives of this project may be listed as follows: 1) Provide training to at least 40 teachers about numeracy and literacy skills through coding and robotics 2) Enable at least 40 teachers to expand their expertise on the teaching of numeracy and literacy through coding and robotics through exchange of good practices 3) Establish a good relationship between the 4 participating schools EU Grant € 95,408

School Exchange Partnerships Success Stories Project Title Evolving Patterns of Diversity Start and end dates 01-10-2018 - 30-09-2020 Summary Modern students lack the necessary key skills, such as critical thinking, problem solving, collaboration and communication, that enables them to function as successful future citizens. A possibility for the gap in the higher-order thinking skills, may be due to the constraints of the vast curriculum and exam-oriented system. Around eighty Year 10 Maltese students (aged 14-15 years), and all Year 4 (aged 14 years) Austrian classes will be involved in this project. Students of different academic abilities and needs, and from all social backgrounds, will be involved. All will take part in the school-based activities. 60 students will then be chosen to join the exchange visits. EU Grant € 71,825

  13. eTwinning Platform It is encouraged for the eTwinning Platform to be used before, during and after a SEP project. Through eTwinning you can: • Find suitable partners for Erasmus+ projects, across Europe and beyond • Collaborate with other teachers and pupils within a secured online platform • Access professional development and classroom resources • Gain recognition for your school through the eTwinning awards and International School Award • Get free support from experienced eTwinning ambassadors in your region • Promote the results of your Erasmus+ projects (project dissemination)

Here you can find useful resources including publications, teaching materials and tutorials for teachers and schools. The Gateway also offers information about upcoming Erasmus+ funding opportunities for schools, including through MOOCs and short overviews of the various funding strands.   15. Erasmus+ Project Results Platform The Project Results Platform contains a summary of every project funded through Erasmus+ and its predecessor programmes. The search results can be filtered by funding strand, key words and year of award of funding. The Platform can be useful to see descriptions of projects which have successfully received funding, as well as to look at which organisations locally and abroad have received funding. This might be useful in partner searches. It is possible to select project summaries and download them as a PDF booklet for internal circulation or to refer to when needed.
