Product – Our Approach • Product recall process reviewed • Trust defined what implants must be tracked (aligning with EU’s MDR Process definition) • 93% of such implants used in Cardiology and Orthopaedics • October 2016 – New Inventory Management System in Cardiology • March 2017 – New Inventory Technology Management System in Orthopaedics • 60 members of staff trained on point of care scanning. • Close working relationships between People clinical staff and procurement

Key Learnings Define your implantable devices and analyse where these are in the Trust to help prioritise your rollout areas Engage with clinical staff as much as possible before and after implementation Be prepared to support training in live cases for a sustained period Thoroughly train impacted areas in new processes Engage early with the key suppliers in your rollout areas to obtain GTINs
