Promote the opportunity to enroll in health coverage through the Marketplace to consumers of Community Health Centers, and throughout Fremont County; Create awareness of the Marketplace, and ACA benefits specific to the people of Wyoming; Provide knowledge that builds trust through understanding. OUTREACH/ENROLLMENT
STRATEGY OUTREACH/ENROLLMENT STRATEGY Gain credibility: • Point out that assistance is free, • Explain my duties as a CAC, • Display certification as an assister in the Health Insurance Marketplace. Build trust through focusing on: • Consumer understanding, • Consumer eligibility, • Consumer needs. Be honest and admit when you do not have an answer. Then go find it, and remember to get back to that person.
STRATEGY • Dispel myths • Focus on how the Affordable Care Act protects consumers and their families • Use personal stories and facts
Some helpful tools for rural EQUIPMENT outreach and enrollment are: 1) A cell for phone applications, and speaking with the call center; 2) Laptop with a good battery life; 3) Hotspot for a reliable internet connection; 4) Portable scanner/copier for uploading documents, and printing copies for consumers. You should be prepared with equipment that is reliable and can run on batteries.
Ask permission onsite before doing outreach, especially if the person who invited you is not present. Remember that opinions are not always fact, but facts always make good opinions . Go to where the people are. Ask if O/E can purchase a hotspot to create a reliable internet connection, in-field. Some hotspots can even provide service for up to 10 laptops. Wind River Mountains BEST PRACTICES Create posters saying that if your household income is between these amounts, come in and learn about affordable health insurance!
