  7. DEVELOPMENT Footwear Development = short timelines • Work on 3 seasons of footwear concurrently - Fall 2018, Spring 2019, and Fall 2019 • 4 -5 designs must be reviewed and confirmed in one week • Quick iterations of designs is our key to success

  8. FOOTWEAR DESIGN Iteration until perfection 1. Designer sketches 2D blueprint of a shoe’s midsole/outsole 2. Blueprint is sent to Asia development/engineering team Repeat 3. Asia development/engineering redraws in 3D CAD until perfect 3. 3D file is sent back to US HQ for review 4. 3D part is printed to confirm it matches our design vision

  10. 3D PRINTED PARTS Our specs Currently, our Connex3 is used to validate our designs • Non-functional 3D models • VeroGrey, VeroBlack, VeroWhite, SUP706 • We can print four midsole/outsole parts on our 3D printer at once • Print times range from 7-26 hours

  11. PRINTING PROCESS 3D printing = saving time and money • 3-4 days to confirm and validate designs • Connex 3 = 2 chances to review • 3D printing on our Connex3 saves $500-$800 each model we print • If we print only 2 versions of each shoe … • = $8000 saved per season • Time saved = invaluable
