Museum Reference The design of RISING takes reference from an ancient Egyptian art piece called Ba Amulet in Brooklyn Museum. Ba Ba Amulet Amulet is a piece of little decoration which mainly formed by a central body like bird with a pair of wings on both sides, a circle replaced head and occupied the position where the head was supposed to be which represents the sun. Part from Shrine for a Divine Image Winged Scarab Apkallu-figure Wearing Fancy Bracelets
Project Statement The purpose of Project - RISING is to increase the interactive experience between visitors and Brooklyn Museum collections while also arousing visitors’ interest in ancient Egyptian culture along with giving them a better understanding of it. By standing in front of this winged totem called RISING, visitors are able to gesture themselves spreading their wings and flying like Egyptian gods on the wall sculptures. Meanwhile, they can also read the panel on the back of central axis to understand the good meanings and wishes that this totem symbolizes after taking selfie with it. As it might be displayed in the lobby, this totem could also work as a sign of the ancient Egyptian exhibition section and attract visitors to visit.
