  1. Rethink Your Training…With Power Edge Pro

  2. Mission Statement “To Provide the best hockey performance experience through our patented, innovative training equipment, delivering an unparalleled reactive hockey experience … ”

  3. Evolution of Power Edge Pro TODAY:

  4. Why Power Edge Pro?

  5. Power Edge Pro: A market Leader PEP is changing the way hockey players train and is an essen5al training for developing elite hockey players. John Tavares New York Islanders

  6. Rethink Your Game... Rethink Your Training Hockey Is a Reac5onary Game. Today’s game is about transi5on, speed and small area dominance with 2 • thirds of the game being played in 1 zone. Majority of skills trainings are NON REACTIVE . • Skills trainings must combine individual skills in small areas with transi5on, change of direc5on, Reac5ve agility, decision and reac5onary type skills. • This type of training is KEY in helping players develop quick thinking, crea5vity and small area dominance necessary for today’s game situa5ons. • How do players acquire these skills? How can we get more repe55ons in the same amount of 5me?

  7. PEP Versus Traditional Training Most Isolated Skills Development leads to Bad habits later. How a player shoots is related to how he skates and carries the puck. • Does he push it ahead of him or does he handle the puck and change • direc5ons with confidence. (OLD Training methods Versus-New-Crosby) Does he need to get set to shoot the puck; does he need 5me to widen his • stance before shoo5ng? Or can he shoot on the fly off balance on either side of the ice? All hockey skills are connected. So why not Train where All skills are • Synchronized together!

  8. PEP Versus Traditional Training Connor McDavid- 3:1 PracFce to Game RaFo-individual Skills/TacFcs IMPOSSSIBLE to get ENOUGH quality REPETITIONS to develop elite • skills from drill based hockey prac5ces. Some of these factors are… Isolated training environments, like power ska5ng with no • resistance and no use of pucks are not working for today’s game. Most drill based trainings lack decision and reac5onary type skills.

  9. PEP Versus Traditional Training Isolated Training Environments can lead to the development of bad habits. Power SkaFng without Pucks: Not requiring players to think about relevance to game situa5on • No puck handling skills required or reac5on 5me • Lots of space to work on technique-opposite of game situa5on • No decision making while working on techniques • Most of the focus is on specific motor response (techniques) •

  10. PEP Reactive Countering Training Simultaneous ‘ React & Counter Skills’ Puck Recovery Training ( by-product of training) • Strategic Puck Placement to Gain Body Posi5oning • Tac5cal Puck touches through PEP • High speed traffic circuits • Synch-hands, feet and mind ( Crea5vity ) • Reac5ve Agility/Change of Direc5on with “S5mulus” • How do you teach players to acquire these skills with Tradi5onal • training? ( Saucer pass example-Connor McDavid)

  11. Building on technical Skills ReacFve Agility-McDavid on the Fly Saucer passes, puck touches-Power Turn Half Crosby TacFcal Puck Touches-SFck Handling In Traffic (Brock University Study) ReacFve Agility Can’t be developed without a “STIMULUS” Serious GAINS are made with REACT and Counter Skills. You can react to a pylon, net or dot but if there is NO COUNTER, you are not syncing hands with the feet. ( Pro Pak Video)

  12. Parents want Specialized Hockey Training that Creates “SEPARATION”. Building elite skill sets requires : 1. Authen5c Reac5ve Training Environment 2. PEP S5mulus-Crea5ng Challenging Resistance for Unique Repe55ons/ Tac5cal Puck Touches-More REPS in the same amount of prac5ce 5me. 3. Pressure-Crea5ng game like pressure adds the “GAME TRANSFER” Reac5ve Repe55ons/Tac5cal puck touches produce far GREATER GAINS for the athlete versus tradi5onal pylon training. Connor McDavid #97

  13. Power Edge Pro: A market Leader Jason Spezza Dallas Stars

  14. PEP Versus Traditional Training Real Game Transfer: • High Traffic, small space/reac5ve skills/reflexes • Working Give & Go’s Down low with fore-check pressure • Create Space, Give False Informa5on to Gain body posi5oning • Place pucks through open lanes-s5cks-20/40 inches-Circuits

  15. PEP SKILLS SESSION – BY THE NUMBERS PEP trainings are strikingly different from any training system before it. To meet the needs of today’s hockey of small area play and handling the puck in traffic, here is what you get from a PEP training session: 50 shots, 45 cross overs, 65 power turns, 55 edge control moves, 45 change of • direc5on movements, 35 balance and agility moves, 75 puck control/s5ckhandling moves, 45 weak side training moves, 40 transi5on moves. Players are forced to develop their weak side, no longer favoring strong side • transi5on. ONE Power Edge Pro Training can give you MORE skill development than 30 games • collec5vely with the 5me spent with the puck and execu5ng skills/tac5cs Over 5 5mes the repe55ons and crea5vity of a standard drill based prac5ce. • Brock University Study to be published 2016 •

  16. Reaction Skills Example - Forward When the skater attacks the PEP apparatus at 30-40 km per hour, How Quickly Can the Player get out of “Trouble” AND “Counter” with Skills/Tactics? The PEP Apparatus is the “Trouble”-(stimulus) and the open lane or stick attachment is the “Counter.” Under pressure, the Forward must “Counter” by quickly maneuvering the puck through the open lane. This is Game Transfer. Video: Forward training full ice -puck control, edges Video: Forward-executing evasive skating/puck control with added pressure

  17. Reaction Skills Example – D-Man When the D-man attacks the top of the PEP Apparatus and transitions forward to backwards and fore-check pressure is added, how quickly can the D-Man get out of “Trouble” and “Counter” with an escape? Without turning over the puck. The “Counter” is the open lane or Stick attachment that he D-man has to maneuver through under pressure. Video: NHL Prospect challenged with PEP /pressure. Normally would not lose the puck with traditional open ice or pylons… REACTIONARY SKILLS ARE DEVELOPED MORE THAN ANY TRADITIONAL TRAINING! PEP will put your prospects skills to the Test.

  20. The he Philosophy Philosophy of of the the Power Edge Pr er Edge Pro Skills Academy o Skills Academy Our program was used at one of the first private sport schools in the Greater Toronto Area in which players were paying $20,000+ to anend each year. The Power Edge Pro Training is a set curriculum and is instructed in a linear progression model u5lizing our proprietary video sooware for enhanced learning. Five years later, here is where those players are:

  23. WHA WHAT DO WE PR T DO WE PROMISE OMISE OUR CUST OUR CUSTOMERS? OMERS? • Unique Reac5ve Hockey Training Experience • Fun, Challenging –interac5ve experience • Fostering imagina5on & crea5vity and MORE Key Repe55ons • BETTER HOCKEY -GUARANTEED

  24. The he McDa McDavid Skills Series vid Skills Series “A De A Developmental Blueprint” elopmental Blueprint” The McDavid Skills Series is the Ul5mate combina5on of elite skill development featuring the PEP Training System and the McDavid On-Ice Skills Series. The off-ice program features the patented McDavid Dangler with 20 HD videos of elite s5ck handling skills/tac5cs. All of the McDavid Dangler videos are performed and narrated by Connor. The One Hockey skill/tac5c you MUST MASTER to compete at the elite level like Connor McDavid is “Reac5ve Countering” and “Reac5ve Puck Placement” The McDavid Skills Series is a proven “Developmental Blueprint” to follow to improve your individual skills and individual Tac5cal performance.
