STAR ASSESSMENT STAR Reading ™ assesses reading comprehension and skills for independent readers All STAR assessments are computer-adaptive tests (CATs). Approx 20 mins Ipad/computer/laptop For every STAR assessment, children receive a scaled score (SS) , which is based on the difficulty of the questions and the number of correct answers. Scaled Scores relate to three developmental stages: Emergent Reader, Transitional Reader and Probable Reader The Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD) Reading Age Repeated half termly
ACCELERATED READER Children choose a book within ZPD range. Take a quiz within 24 hours. Pass rate can be altered. Looking for 100% Each book has a point score attached depending on length. Set pupil targets
