CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (CIP)  Drafted annually & parallels with the City’s annual operating budget process.  Five year outlook allows for planning & prioritization of projects.  Projects are grouped by type: Parks, Transportation, Stormwater, Water, Wastewater, and Municipal Facilities & Equipment.  Once finalized, all projects listed in the FY2020 column are to be included in the annual operating budget.

  3. CIP PROCESS  Departments submit CIP projects to Finance to format for discussion.  Projects are assigned a Project Number (not numbered by priority).  Cash Flows are created for each funding source identified.  Multiple meetings are held with the City Manager and Department Directors to discuss projects and to determine the priorities.

  4. CIP PROCESS (CONTINUED)  CIP Discussions Include: - Needs related to growth and development - Status of voter approved bond projects - Funding Sources - Details of each project - Council goals - Future maintenance and cost savings
