What is Design Squad Global? A club that connects 10-13 year olds in out-of-school time programs in the U.S. to kids around the world to collaborate on solving real-world engineering problems and expand their cross-cultural understanding. The Design Process DEFINE THE NEED Every session in Design Squad Global reinforces the design process to develop core skills: BRAINSTORM Creativity and innovation DESIGN Critical thinking and problem solving BUILD Communication and collaboration The ability to learn from REDESIGN TEST & EVALUATE mistakes Confidence to take action SHARE SOLUTION
Hands-on Engineering Activity Design and build a structure only out of newspaper and tape that is at least eight inches tall and strong enough to hold a heavy book. .
