Project One Jessica Feist Trisha Cleveland Cindy Lessard Kaitlyn Becker
Inspiration The organic, sinuous nature of isis wings and their traditional belly dance choreography Wanting to incorporate this, while also changing it to suit our designs
Laban Efforts Indirectly interpreting our Laban Movement Unexpected in relation to traditional application of Isis Wings Possible words: Slash, flick, or wring
Visual/Sound Aesthetics The dancer’s movements will create musical accompaniment The dancer is the musician Juxtaposition of sharp versus flowing movements Would love to incorporate and iridescent quality in the costume to compliment the gauzy nature of wings
Interaction The movement of the wings will produce specific sound I.E. the velocity controls volume The direction influences pitch Later additions may include LEDs to change color according to acceleration, or incorporation of the xyz coordinates of the wing tips into the input values
Stage Setup Flexible, portable setup. Dancer wears component, all that is needed separately is a computer with speakers Ergo, this performance could happen pretty much anywhere there is space
