Progress: • 18 courses at 5 universities, 465 participants since 2005 • 86 Participants from 13 SEA countries and 5 other PPD members • Feeder for the LEAD Fellows Programme: +- 60 persons • Gender parity in enrolment • Used in LEAD regional training in Senegal and Pakistan • Spin-off courses: PED in IDP training for municipalities 2008+ PED @ University of Dar-es-Salaam 2010+ LEAD IS 2010: Population, Climate Change and Development: 200 participants, many PPD member countries NMMU: Africa Population, Climate Change and Development training course 2011+ Evaluation: • Comprehensive, independent evaluation in 2006: “it indeed is succeeding in building capacity in substantive integration of population concerns with sectoral issues” • PPD “best practice case study” 2010: ”innovative … unique way of interactive teaching methodology … raising awareness … various policy and planning settings … portable and replicable ” “…participants grasped the idea … and have developed the skill to integrate them into policies and programmes … this outcome has been accomplished” 4
