GOVERNMENT OF ANDHRA PRADESH Vocational Education School Education Department Overview of Vocational Education : The Centrally Sponsored Scheme of Vocationalisation of Secondary & Higher secondary Education (CSSVSHSE) provides diversification of educational opportunities to enhance individual employability, reduce the mismatch between demand and supply of skilled manpower and provides an alternative for those pursuing higher education. The scheme is operated within the National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) and executed under the umbrella of Samagra Shiksha. Objectives: to enhance the employability of youth through demand driven competency based modular vocational courses to maintain their competitiveness through provisions of multi-entry multi- exit learning opportunities and vertical mobility/ inter-changeability in qualifications to fill the gap between educated and employable To reduce the dropout rate at the secondary level. GOVERNMENT OF ANDHRA PRADESH Vocational Education School Education Department Overview of Vocational Education : The NSQF aligned curriculum and text books, laboratory set-up, theory, practical, Industrial Visits (IVs), Guest Lectures (GLs), Internships and Job Melas are part of the programme. The overall programme is designed as per the NSQF guidelines to cover 200 sessions for IX and X classes (L1 & L2) and 300 sessions for XI and XII classes (L3 & L4). AP State is adopting the NSQF aligned curriculum and text books prepared by the Pandit Sunderlal Sharma Central Institute of Vocational Education (PSSCIVE) located in Bhopal and vetted by NCERT. Assessments and joint certification for the students by respective State Boards and Sector Skill Councils. GOVERNMENT OF ANDHRA PRADESH Vocational Education School Education Department Overview of Vocational Education in Andhra Pradesh: Vocational Education scheme has been sanctioned in 126 Model Schools in 2016-17 by MHRD, GoI. Another 80 Schools in 2017-18 and 50 Schools in 2018- 19 has been sanctioned under different managements. Another 181 Schools (31 KGBVs with single trade) have been sanctioned for the year 2019-20 and implementation is under process. VE in Andhra Pradesh is implementing in partnership with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and Lend-A-Hand India. 17 Vocational Training Partners (VTPs) have been selected for 14 Vocational Skills/Trades at present. There are total 512 Vocational Trainers and 22 Vocational Coordinators are supporting VE in 256 Schools. There are total 35,650 students enrolled for 4 levels (Schools are at different levels) for the academic year 2019-20 in 256 Schools. As part of the World Skill Competitions-2019, 5 Students achieved Gold medals and 4 Students Silver medals in State Skill Competitions and 9 Students participated in South Regional Skill Competitions and 3 Students participated in National Skill Competitions in 2018. His father is a bus driver with minimum wage and mother is a home maker. The Skill competitions have opened a window of opportunity to exhibit his skills and for professional development.
