TITAN, PREDICTIVE ANALYTICS, AND THE AVAILABILITY OF TRAFFIC SAFETY DATA IN TENNESSEE 1
What is TITAN? TITAN essentially serves as Tennessee’s Traffic Records Management System. This network is comprised of two components: • A Stand Alone Software Application • Online Web Portal 2
Goals • Reduce submission of paper crash, citation, and crime reports (Eliminate Manual Processes) • Increase data available for Data Driven Decision Making (Pro-active vs. Re-active Enforcement) • Improve allocation of resources • Safer Roadways and Communities 3
Currently 320+agencies submitting electronically 150,000+ reports in the last 12 months 91% timely submission (7 days or less) 87% use Map-It tool 4
New Legislation 5
TITAN Modules E-Crash E-Forms E-Citation DUI Tracker E-Crime & Trooper Activity Court Disposition Reporting 6
Map-It Enhancement Integration Integrated with E-CRASH, E-CITATION, and E- CRIME components of the TITAN system. Improved Location Data Officers will be able to access the state map and pick a location on the map for every event. Eliminate Dependency on GPS Devices Agencies will no longer need GPS devices to enter the required coordinates into TITAN. 7
Officer Map-It Tool – Application View Statewide Tracking System for DUI arrests 168k *Additional funding required. What we will get: Statistics/Reporting Capabilities Detailed Violation Data Ability to look up cases Provides Historical Data Accountability/Evaluates Trends On Line Website 8
TITAN Predictive Analytics Program Goals & Objectives Using IBM SPSS modeler software to build statistical models indicating where traffic crashes and other traffic safety incidents are most likely to occur Provides management tools to THP Command Staff and Supervisors, as well as our local law enforcement partners, for use in optimizing the allocation of resources and manpower Generates Law Enforcement Visibility in the right locations at the right times in order to maximize impact on traffic safety 9
