Pontiac Trail @ 7 Mile Road Roundabout
Construction During COVID-19 • Road construction has been deemed “essential” by state and federal officials • Precautions will be taken to protect employee safety • Please do not approach employees
Background • 2014 roundabout project – ROW issues – Grant money returned • 2020 project using federal aid (rural funds) – 80/20 match – $880,000 bid (Cadillac Asphalt)
Why a Roundabout? • Roundabouts slow down traffic and reduce the severity of crashes • Roundabouts move traffic more efficiently and reduce congestion • Reduces impacts to neighboring parcels

Project Overview • Spring 2020; utilities being relocated • In summer 2020, we will… – Install single-lane roundabout – Construct curb and gutter – Install enclosed storm sewer – Build crosswalk for east leg crossing – Install street lighting at intersection

Timeline • Starting in June • Plan to be completed by middle of August • Contractor will work… – Monday – Saturday, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Impact to Traffic • Except for access to the Corner General Store, the intersection will be closed to all traffic for approximately 8 weeks – Property access to be provided by the east leg of the intersection.
Detour • 6 Mile Rd to Dixboro Rd to 8 Mile Rd • Dixboro Rd to 6 Mile Rd to Angle Rd
Construction Details • Mail delivery • Trash pickup • Interaction as a pedestrian • Yard restoration
Roundabout Reminders... • Slow down on approach • Look to your left • When no traffic is present proceed slowly • When traffic is present YIELD
