How are we defining First Mile / Last Mile? ‘ First-mile last- mile’ is typically used to describe the beginning or end of an individual journey to or from a transport hub or service to the final destination. Within the Heartland the definition of first-mile and last- mile represents a wider choice of both traditional and emerging transport models that enable access to opportunities and needs.

Best Practice Report — Aggregation of FMLM best practice — Behavioural best practice — Mobility hubs (interchange v2.0) — People, place and activity focused — High quality, modular, flexible design — Branding, marketing, inormation and behaviour change — Safety and security — Integration of ticketing and payment — Integration of wider strategy and delivery — Objective to improve access, connectivity and reduce overall VKT — Applicability to EEH across all typologies
