Globeville Landing Outfall • New outfall New (with existing) Outfall • Natural open channel • Incorporating water quality • Opportunity to Existing re-envision park Outfall and uses
FUNDING, TIMING & NEXT STEPS
Funding for Citywide Stormwater Projects • Denver pays for stormwater and drainage projects through wastewater fees and through partnerships when feasible • Four types of stormwater projects: – Citywide storm improvements – Major basin projects – Urban waterways (gulches) – Water quality • Over the last 20 years, Denver has only had 2 stormwater rate increases • City Council is scheduled to hear full proposal for rate increase in spring 2016
Funding for Platte to Park Hill • Platte to Park Hill: Stormwater Systems will be one of many projects paid for through wastewater fees • Other funding partners may include: – Urban Drainage and Flood Control District – CDOT – RTD

Preliminary Construction Timeline • Globeville Landing Outfall construction – Begin 2016, complete by 2017 • Open Channel – Begin 2017, complete by 2018 • Cole or City Park Golf Course Detention construction – Begin 2017, complete by 2018 • Park Hill Detention & Pipe construction – Begin 2018, complete 2019
Next Steps • Extending the public comment window • Ramping up community outreach between now and the selection of the preferred option o Project updates, website, small community meetings • Further refinement of the draft options based on additional input • Announcement of preferred option in early April
INFORMATION ADDITIONAL
2014 Storm Drainage Master Plan • Citywide planning tool that identifies basic stormwater needs • Master Plan identifies and prioritizes projects, which consist of pipes that meet 5-year storm criteria • Platte to Park Hill was not included in the master plan because it solves the 100-year event • Modeling for Platte to Park Hill area indicated a need to consider higher level of criteria (100-year) due to high flood risk
