CGA and the Village staff have been working together to schedule trainings and identify measurable metrics and goals. The following are areas identified by Village Staff as concerns. The solutions have been agreed upon by both CGA and Village Staff. Planning Services Village of Estero
Operational and Customer Service Customer Service enhancements • Providing additional training for front counter staff (two trainings have already been completed) • Preparing Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) • Program added at the counter to monitor wait times • Reporting added to monitor permit turnaround times Monitor and eliminate customer complaints • All complaints to be directed to Larry and Chris for immediate investigation and resolution • None received to date • CGA is adding a link on the website for complaints and feedback • Providing set hours for in-person answers to building questions by Building Official Planning Services Village of Estero
Fiscal Monitor revenues and expenses monthly. • Building Official to meet with Village Finance Staff monthly to review reports and receive direction from Village Staff accordingly CGA to develop a plan to address efficient provision of commercial building inspections for large projects • Additional staff to be added as needed and agreed upon by the Village Finance Staff at monthly meeting Planning Services Village of Estero
Reports Building Permit / Code Enforcement Monthly Reports • Completed. Set up for ongoing reporting Planning reports • All projects will be submitted through Inkforce by June 15 th . The reports will be generated monthly. Building Inspections Inspections conducted with a 1 day turnaround, with contractors/homeowners having until 12:00 am to make an inspection request for the following business day • Practice previously in place and will continue with this procedure Planning Services Village of Estero
Code Enforcement Activities Code complaints, inspection due within 3 days of complaint Fence permit inspections, one day turnaround Sign permit inspections, one day turnaround Permitting Residential new – 7 days Residential resubmittal and revision – 3 days Commercial new – 21 days Commercial resubmittal and revision – 7 days Commercial interior remodel – 16 days Planning Services Village of Estero
Training Schedule and Inkforce Updates • May 22 nd additional GIS training was held for staff • June 2 nd Planning and Zoning Module for Inkforce was held for staff • By June 15 th – Planning and Zoning application process will be solely through Inkforce to allow for reporting similar to other modules (Code & Building) Planning Services Village of Estero
Our goal is to continue to improve the quality and level of service to the Village of Estero community.
