Objectives of the Presentation ➢ To provide an overview of the proposed District Improvement Plan for 2017-2018 ➢ To discuss the timeline and nomination process for members of the District Improvement Committee for 2017-2018

Board Goal 3: Advocacy/Support Whole Student ➢ Performance Objectives 3.1 & 3.2, p. 29-30 ◦ Revision - focus on analyzing the data received from the surveys and planning to address data. ➢ Performance Objective - 3.3, p. 31 ◦ Revision - all campuses implementing the “Freedom from Bullying” Councils and added the inclusion of the impact of social media on teens the guidance program. ➢ Performance Objective 3.4, p. 32 ◦ New- the initiative to implement drug and alcohol support programs across the district.
Board Goal 4: Ethical Values ➢ Performance Objective 1, p. 34 ○ 4 - New - parent access to guidance curriculum, ○ 1 and 3 - Added “Schedule of lesson delivery” to Evidence ➢ Performance Objective 2, Revised Strategy 2, p. 35 ○ 2 - Revised - Provide online course in Internet safety and cyber-bullying; add document course completion to Evidence ○ Added “Link to InfoSnap” to Evidence for Strategy 1 ➢ Performance Objective 3, p. 36 ○ 3 - Revised - Review and Update; Evidence is date of review
Board Goal 5: Community Engagement and Collaboration ➢ Performance Objective 1: p. 37 Expanded strategies to include video, social media, marketing materials, special events, two-way communication and outreach to position Irving ISD as a district of choice. ➢ Performance Objectives 2, 4, 5, and 6: Removed these strategies. They are now part of our everyday operations. ➢ Performance Objective 3 (new 2): p. 38 Revised. Added strategy to conduct audit of partnerships, revised strategies that emphasize collaboration with principals and chambers of commerce. ➢ Performance Objective 7 (new 3), p. 39
Board Goal 6: Total Organizational Capacity to Accomplish Mission ➢ Performance Objective 3, p. 40 ◦ 1- Revision - Removed the 0 year teacher mentor program and added an enhancement to the second objective in providing a campus support plan to all 0 - 2 year teachers AND teachers new to the district. ◦ Eliminated all mentors will receive training ➢ Performance Objective 5, p. 44 ◦ Discontinued staffing being based on specialized populations ➢ Performance Objective 6, p. 45 ◦ 1 - New - Retain effective employees through a focus on competitive compensation and added an annual review of compensation for supplemental duties

Nominations for 2017-2018 District Improvement Committee ➢ Process ◦ Nominations will be submitted online. ◦ Nominations open June 20, 2017 to September 1, 2017 ◦ Names of all nominees will be submitted to the Board of Trustees during the September 18th Work Session.
