Physical activity Term Definition Physical Activity Any bodily movement produced by the skeletal muscles that expends energy beyond resting levels. Exercise Physical activity that is planned, structured, repetitive, purposeful, and intended to maintain or improve health or fitness. Physical Fitness A set of attributes related to a person’s ability to perform physical activity and includes cardiorespiratory fitness, strength, flexibility and body composition.
