APAN Network and Application • APAN Network – Consist of multi-domain networks with interconnection • APAN Member: 18 economics, 27 networks – Each NOC operates the network with each policy – The big gap exists on the bandwidth of the link • 10Gbps ( optical) ~ several Mbps ( satellite ) • APAN Application – Communication over multi-domain networks • Telemedicine, e-learning, eVLBI, HDTV, LiveE, Earth Monitoring – Require better performance perfSONAR Workshop, 29th APAN Meeting, Sydney 18
APAN Network Operational Issue (1/2) • Issues It takes much operator’s energy and time when End-to-End performance problems occur in APAN network • Identify the degradation point not only own network but also other networks • Arrange the iperf server with other NOC each time • Compare measurement data such as link usage among different format. perfSONAR Workshop, 29th APAN Meeting, Sydney 19
