  5. Smart Metering JnJ positions itself as an End to End Smart Metering Company , packaging  turnkey deployment of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) including manufacture & supply of metering devices, installation and commissioning and operations and maintenance of the same.  Our services to utilities include energy metering, billing, monitoring and energy loss reduction services. JnJ’s daily automatic energy loss measurement and reporting of feeder and  distribution transformer (LT side) losses provides inputs to enable action for loss reduction. JnJ Builds, Owns & Operates AMI and prepaid metering.  Offers metering, billing and collection franchisee for power distribution companies.  5

  6. JnJ Solutions to Problems in the Power Distribution Industry  Due to lack of systems that can detect, monitor and provide inputs on energy consumption pattern, state utilities face huge aggregate technical and commercial (AT&C) losses. This has resulted in energy theft and energy losses. Poor billing efficiency affects cash inflows to the utilities.   JnJ smart metering system is capable of providing to Indian Utilities an effective Energy Metering, Billing, Monitoring & Energy Loss Reduction Services. JnJ’s Daily Automatic Energy Loss Measurement and Reporting of Feeder & Distribution Transformer ( LT side) losses  provides inputs to enable action for loss reduction. The PLCC communication system JnJ deploys on LV networks, helps in 100% indexing of LV consumers under each Distribution transformer enabling 100% correct Energy Audit and effectively helps loss reduction exercise. JnJ Smart Prepaid Metering provides Utilities scope for highly improved cash flows. JnJ Builds, Owns & Operates  Advanced Metering Infrastructure and Prepaid Metering.  With Electricity Distribution companies struggling with such huge energy losses and cash flows difficulties, big opportunities exist now to reach out to these Utilities with Smart Metering solutions that would help them reduce AT &C losses and highly improved cash flows. 6

  7. Certifications and Industry Associations JnJ is one of the few companies in India to have BIS Certification for all its range of Smart Meters. In India • meters tested by ETDC/ERTL & BIS Certification –IS:13997 ( Single & Three Phase Whole Current Meters) & IS:14697( CT Operated Meters). Meets IEC specifications. ISO 9001, ISO 27001, BS OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001 & CMMI Level 3 certified Company • JnJ has a NABL accredited laboratory • Owns its own data center offering its own meter data management & prepaid metering services on cloud. • Already providing the cloud services to 4 Discoms in Odisha, Uttar Gujarat Discom, Puducherry Electricity and Railways. JnJ is a Member of India Smart Grid Forum( ISGF) and active member of following Working Groups : • Member-Working Group 4: Metering • Member-Working Group 5: Consumption & Load Control • Member-Working Group 8: Pilots & Business Models • Member-Working Group 9: Renewables & Micro Grids • Member of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) • Member of Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry ( FAPCCI) •

  14. Smart Grid Pilot Project- Ajmer Discom (AVVNL)-USAID PACE-D TA Program • JnJ has won prestigious Smart Grid Pilot project awarded under USAID PACE D program . • This Smart Grid Pilot is being executed in Ajmer Discom (AVVNL) • This project involves installation of about 514 Nos Smart Meters under one feeder to carry our energy loss measurement at Feeder and DT Level. • The Installation Phase is completed. The Operational Phase has started with effect from October 1 st , 2016. 14

  15. Summary of AVVNL Pilot Number of DTs covered: 6 • Number of Meters installed: 514 • Communication technologies used: PLCC, GPRS • Major scope: • - Smart Metering remote communication - Daily live energy audit - Tamper detection and monitoring Other possible functions: • - Prepaid metering - Roof-top source integration and metering (Solar) - Load limitation - Disconnection on tampers

  17. JnJ Meter Data Management System • JnJ has its own end to end system. An integral part of this end to end communication system is the MDAS-MDM. • JnJ has its own servers located in Hyderabad on which the MDM and MDAS applications are run • Services to DISCOMs are provided via the web • A wide range of data from basic kWh readings to detailed alerts and events are collected from the meter • The MDM also has a wide range of analytics that are being used in JnJ Pilots across the DISCOMs. Analytics provide direction to the decision makers in the DISCOMs to make more educated and therefore more precise decisions.

  41. Advantages of the JnJ Metering System In the PLCC system the DCU uses the existing power-lines to communicate to the meters under it. • This eliminates the potential issues with loss of data and communication due to the very dynamic line of sight issues. The PLCC system also allows to identify meters that do not belong to the same DTR. This helps in • identifying issues with indexing. Live Energy Audit: Daily energy loss reporting system allows for quick checking of the field issue in • case loss fluctuates. Tamper Detection: All meter tampers, including those performed on live meters, are sent to the JnJ • MDM. The DISCOM can act upon the issue with the least amount of delay.
