  4. I NT RO DU C I N G H A R O L D Born in France but raised in Switzerland since he was a child, Harold’s love affair with motorsport began while still at school when he sampled karting for the first time. His first outing in a competitive championship came in the USA, racing Formula Ford 2000s, before working his way through the single-seater ranks by competing in British F3, F3 Euro Series and World Series Lights. However, it was in endurance racing where Harold really found his niche. His first taste of the discipline came in the V de V French Endurance Championship with Saulnier Racing in 2003 and ’04, before moving on to race both LMP1 and 2 machinery – the vanguard of sports- prototype design – over the next eight years. Having made a name for himself racing at Le Mans with sportscar legend Henri Pescarolo’s eponymous team, and after two appearances at the Daytona 24 Hours, Harold was signed by Aston Martin Racing as an official factory driver for its new LMP1 project. While the following three years would be dominated by the diesel-powered Audis and Peugeots, Harold acquitted himself well by finishing fourth in the LMS standings, scoring overall victories in the Asian and American Le Mans Series, and finishing a career-best sixth at Le Mans. When Aston Martin’s LMP1 programme closed its doors at the end of 2011, Harold was on the look out for a fresh challenge. He duly found it in the revived FIA World Endurance Championship with Swiss outfit Rebellion Racing who, like Aston Martin before, would be pitted against the might of factory manufacturers in sports-prototype racing’s top echelon. Nevertheless, a pair of privateer victories and further four podiums underlined Primat’s dedication to the cause. After a near-decade competing in sports-prototypes, 2013 saw Primat switch to racing GT3 cars in the burgeoning Blancpain Endurance Series and German-based VLN championship. That allowed him to compete at another globally revered motor race, the 24 Hours of Spa, where he finished fourth after also contesting that year’s Bathurst 12 Hour for the first time.

  6. M I S S I O N 2 0 1 4 In 2014 Harold and leading Mercedes-Benz GT squad HTP Motorsport will focus their efforts on three major endurance events... 8/9 February: Bathurst 12 Hour (AUS) 21/22 June: 24 Hours Nürburgring (GER) 26/27 July: 24 Hours of Spa (BEL) - BES round ...As well as the remaining Blancpain Endurance Series rounds... 12/13 April: Monza, 3 hours (ITA) 24/25 May: Silverstone, 3 hours (GBR) 28/29 June: Paul Ricard, 3 hours (FRA) 20/21 Sept: Nurburgring, 3 hours (GER) ...And selected VLN events. The first of these blue riband races, the Bathurst 12 Hour, represents the ultimate Australian endurance event and a modern classic amongst worldwide GT racing. Taking place at the legendary Mount Panorama circuit – a venue made famous by its annual V8 Supercar race – Bathurst’s blue riband GT event has attracted some of the best-known international sportscar teams and drivers in recent years who relish the opportunity to take on both the mountain and Australia’s racing elite. A strong debut there in 2013 saw Harold finish fourth overall, although a starter motor issue undoubtedly robbed him of a podium finish and perhaps even victory. One year on and Harold’s objective is clear: to win the Bathurst 12 Hour.

  7. M I S S I O N 2 0 1 4 THE TEA M In only a short space of time HTP Motorsports has become one of Europe’s leading GT teams. HTP MO TO RSPORTS Established in 2012 as the successor to Heico Motorsports (an ultra-successful sportscar outfit in its own right), the project overseen by respected driver manager Norbert Brückner was soon winning in both its domestic Germany and on the European stage. HTP’s involvement with Heico can actually be traced back to 2011 when it became a sponsor of the squad’s GT3 racing activities. As first Heico and now HTP the partnership has proven a formidable force ever since, with a number of headline grabbing championship titles, race victories and results to its name. These have also helped to reinforce the team’s particularly strong relationship with Mercedes-Benz and AMG. 2013 Winner 24 Hours of Spa Champion Blancpain Endurance Series (drivers’ title) 1st FIA GT Sprint Championship (Pro Am) 1st FIA GT Sprint Championship (Gentlemens’ Trophy) 3rd ADAC GT Masters (drivers’ Title) 4th ADAC GT Masters (teams’ Title) 2012 Champion FIA European GT3 Championship (teams’ title) Champion FIA European GT3 Championship (drivers’ title) 2nd & 3rd Dubai 24 Hours 3rd 24 Hours Nurburgring (first Mercedes home) 2011 Champion FIA European GT3 Championship (teams’ title) Achievement First team to win with the new Mercedes SLS AMG 6 GT3 7
