General Informa;on 2018 marks the 4th administra;on of the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness • for College and Careers (PARCC) and the third opportunity to compare year-to- year results. CTSD students took PARCC English Language Arts and Literacy Assessments (ELA) • in grades 3-8. CTSD students took PARCC Mathema;cs Assessments in grades 3-8 and End of • Course Assessments in Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II. Roughly 7 states and several other groups u;lized PARCC tes;ng in 2018. Other • states have moved to independent state tes;ng or a hybrid exam.

Evidence Statement Analysis Evidence statements describe the knowledge and skills that an assessment • item/task elicits from students. These are derived directly from the Common Core State Standards. New Tes;ng for 2019 1. New Name! The assessments will be called NJSLA-ELA & NJSLA- Math. The number of units has been reduced, resulting in less minutes. The platform will remain the same. 2. Each year, the number of units and test times has been adjusted. 3. The new assessment is unique to NJ so state comparison data is expected to be available, however nationally normed data may not be applicable.
