Availability • Hillbrand Availability: • Our project was trumped by Tony Tyson for the last 1.5 weeks… proposal work with a fixed deadline. We dropped to zero percent. • Expect to return to a ~20% duty-cycle on Pac-Man starting next week. • No major vacations planned for winter holidays (few days) to take advantage of quiet time. • Mulhearn Availability: • Vacation Dec 9-15 interrupted for one day schematics review • Vacation Dec 23-27, but available part-time if needed. • Not teaching until Jan 6. • Pac-Man is highest priority research topic for me. 2
Board Delivery Schedule Dec 11-13 Mulhearn (remote) review of first-pass schematics, Hillbrand makes revisions. Dec 17 Mulhearn and Hillbrand schematics QA meeting at UCD, send to group, order parts. Dec 19 Pixel Meeting to discuss schematics Dec 30 Board routing completed, send to fab house. Jan 8 Boards arrive UCD (assumes six-layer, expedited) Jan 9 Hillbrand assembles first board. Jan 10 Hillbrand power testing. Jan 11-18 Mulhearn board testing. Jan 19 Mulhearn hand delivers first board to LBL. 3
Trenz 4x5 cm Carriers and Peripherals Starter Kit w/ Baseboard TE7003 - great card, complicated to copy • Starter kits are a convenient start, but be careful not to rely on features not available for Pac-Mac. • Zynq Supporting Peripherals, copied from TE7006: • Micro SD card slot (4) • JTAG/UART header (8) • Boot mode dip switch (+ extra?) (9) • Gigabit Ethernet (7) TE7006 - no configurable logic 4
Pac-Man Firmware Development • Mulhearn focussing on Zynq architecture of TE0720: • Complete petalinux installation, including dev tools and SD-card root FS (DONE) • Bare-metal application “Hello World” (DONE) • “Hello Pin” Firmware, PL control high range I/O pin (DONE) • AXI PL/PS interface: measure bandwidth of interrupt driven design (Underway) • Firmware based-on command line (TCL, non-GUI) builds and version control with git. • See: https://github.com/mulhearn/pacman 5

Pac-Man Initial Testing Plans • Initial power testing by Hillbrand, before installing TE0720. • Remaining tests by Mulhearn and undergraduate student. • Core board features to be tested with bare-metal application and custom PL. • Physical loopback testing of digital I/O • Physical loopback testing of front-panel I/O • Blink LEDs. • Analog feature testing TBD. • “Advanced” board peripherals to be tested with peta-linux: • SD card • Ethernet 7
